Marcie has over 30 years of experience teaching elementary school. She has taught 5th grade science for the last 7 years.
5th Grade students will be growing and identifying several species of grasses found in area fields. Students will discuss what plants are found naturally and what grasses are considered invasive, having been introduced into area ecosystems. Students will explore the impact of invasive plants and their effects on grazing. Students will also discuss best practices of maintaining healthy ecosystems including controlled burns as a means of being good stewards.
