Melissa Shehane, Ph.D., serves as an instructional assistant professor for the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management. Her research and teaching interests lie in developing civically minded leaders to combat challenges within the field of agriculture and beyond. She is nationally known in the leadership education field through her program design experience. She has over 17 years of leadership development, service-learning, career development, strategic planning, curriculum design and course instruction in both agriculture and non-agriculture courses. Shehane fosters a nurturing yet rigorous classroom environment that challenges and supports students in their transition to college, development of professional skills and writing in agricultural sciences.
